I smear my cheeks with brown face-paint and drape a frayed cotton tunic over my shoulders, tying it at the waist with a strip of muddy fabric. The Monster Mistress, Jenn, taps me on the shoulder and hands me a slip of paper.
“Break a leg…” She smiles evilly. “Or eat one.”

It’s hard to believe that it’s been a year since Cerise was first launched. What began as a project by essentially three people has blossomed into a full-fledged magazine. Without all of you who have contributed your articles and stories, we never would have made it to where we are today.
Remember that getting noticed in gaming is something that can begin with publishing a single article in a gaming magazine. So if you have an interest in the industry, consider hopping over to our submissions page and submitting your article, review, or gamer story.

Ikariam, Browsergame, GameForge, 2008
After reading about this game called Ikariam that “plays somewhat like Settlers meets Civilization” (Japanmanship blog) I wasted no time signing up for my own account. While I was put off by the lack of female models (the only one I’ve seen so far is in the background of the market screenshot that you can see on their main page), I find the gameplay to be intriguing and the overall experience to be fun.
